Leaving the ocean world of Carteyna behind, I signed on as security aboard a scarred ironclad. The six-month haul toward Stanton is a far cry from life on a warship — long silences, shady ports, and the constant threat of pirates. Restless but moving forward, where a new chapter awaits. 

While in transit to Stanton, the ship's captain received a distress call from a fellow hauler in deep space needing assistance.
